Apple’s latest accessory isn’t a gadget — it’s a fashion statement. Teaming up with renowned Japanese designer Issey Miyake, Apple has unveiled the iPhone Pocket, a minimalist 3D-knitted bag designed exclusively to carry your iPhone in style.
After gifting Steve Jobs his iconic black turtleneck, Issey Miyake returns to the Apple ecosystem with an accessory that feels equally symbolic — the iPhone’s very own “turtleneck.” These haute handbags are designed purely for your iPhone and come in eight vibrant colors.
Crafted using a 3D-knitted construction, each iPhone Pocket is made as a single seamless piece, a technique perfected by Miyake’s design house after years of R&D. This gives the accessory its soft, padded texture that not only protects the phone but also doubles as a wearable fashion item.
Fusion of design and technology
The iPhone Pocket fits nearly all iPhone models — from the slim iPhone Air to the larger iPhone 17 Pro Max, and even smaller versions like the iPhone 13 Mini. Though you could fit an Android device too, the creators humorously suggest that “Steve Jobs might not approve.”

Available in two variants, the short-strap model retails for $149.95, while the long-strap edition costs $229.95. Apple plans to sell these luxury phone holsters in just 10 select stores worldwide, emphasizing their exclusivity.
Style over practicality
Is the iPhone Pocket practical? Not quite. But it’s unmistakably stylish. The design — a single, unstitched knit — is meant for those who appreciate detail and craftsmanship. Fans who have previously splurged on Apple’s $19 polishing cloth or Hermès Watch straps will likely see the iPhone Pocket as another collector’s delight.
The bag’s expandable knit makes it surprisingly flexible — allowing users to slide the phone completely inside for protection or leave the top exposed for quick notifications. It can even fit small essentials like lip balm, AirPods, or a slim MagSafe power bank.
Care and handling
While durable in form, the iPhone Pocket requires gentle care. Designers recommend keeping it away from rain, food, or direct sunlight to prevent color fading or damage. Washing it in a machine is strongly discouraged — a light air-dry indoors is the safest option.
The iPhone Pocket isn’t just a phone carrier — it’s a statement of minimalist fashion and personal expression. Whether worn around the neck, across the body, or attached to a handbag, it reflects Apple’s philosophy of merging utility with aesthetics.
