All militants involved in the attack on Cadet College Wana have been killed, according to security sources.
The operation successfully neutralised a suicide bomber and four other attackers, while no student or staff member suffered harm. The college building is currently being cleared due to the risk of explosive devices.
Earlier, all students and staff at the college were safely rescued. Security sources reported that morale among students and staff remains high, and the operation will continue until the remaining militants are eliminated. The security forces have conducted the operation with utmost caution and strategy. The Inspector General of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa South personally supervised the operation at Cadet College Wana.
Security sources stated that on November 10, the Afghan militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate. The blast destroyed the gate and damaged nearby buildings. Pakistani Army personnel responded immediately, killing two militants on the spot.
Federal Information Minister, Atta Tarar said the Wana attack represented a conspiracy involving Afghanistan and India, intended to harm Pakistan through a proxy war. He added that negotiations could not continue alongside attacks and promised that evidence would be presented to the international community. He warned that Pakistan would not remain passive until terrorism ended, and that India and Afghanistan would face consequences.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said that the courageous actions of security personnel had foiled the attack. He confirmed that the militants had links to Afghanistan and that he, along with the Defence Minister and other officials, had presented evidence to Afghan authorities. He urged Afghanistan to prevent terrorism originating from its soil and warned that Pakistan would hold responsible parties accountable if attacks continued.
