A South Korean woman has spent 300 million won (US$210,000) on nearly 400 cosmetic procedures over the past 15 years.
According to foreign media, Gil Lee-won spoke on the popular South Korean entertainment programme It’s OK to Not Be OK, where she revealed that her journey with cosmetic surgery began in 2010. She said she became overweight while preparing for college entrance exams and was ridiculed for her body. Later, criticism from a former boyfriend about her appearance led her to seek plastic surgery.
Gil did not specify what her first procedure involved. Since then, she has undergone hundreds of treatments as part of a complete physical transformation and has no intention of stopping.
She explained that the constant criticism from her boyfriend affected her confidence, which pushed her to change her appearance entirely. She now feels confident and does not regret the surgeries.
Over the past 15 years, she has undergone numerous cosmetic procedures, including forehead fat grafting, ear reconstruction, double eyelid surgery, eye correction, several nose surgeries, lip surgery, chin and facial contouring, dimple removal and reversal, lip fillers, shoulder, neck and collarbone fillers, hip acupuncture, full-body liposuction revision surgery, stem cell injections, and various skin treatments.
Gil said that, when including dermatological treatments, she has undergone around 400 procedures in total, with the number continuing to rise.
Although she still wants to alter certain aspects of her appearance, a doctor at the liposuction clinic advised her to focus on maintaining her current condition. Despite this, she continues to visit dermatology and herbal clinics almost daily to preserve her appearance and youth.
