The National Savings Centre in Rawalpindi on Tuesday announced the results of the Rs750 prize bond draw held for the month of July 2025, declaring the winning numbers for the first and second prizes.

According to officials, the draw was conducted at 10:00am and saw prize bond number 953346 claim the first prize of Rs1.5 million.

The second prize, amounting to Rs500,000 each, was awarded to three bondholders bearing numbers 294897, 651248, and 965105.

Tax on prize money increased

Meanwhile, the federal government has notified revised tax rates on prize bond winnings. According to the latest notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), filers will now be subject to a 15% withholding tax on any prize bond earnings.

However, non-filers — individuals who are not registered with the tax system — will face a significantly higher deduction of 30% on their winnings.

The move is part of broader fiscal reforms aimed at increasing documentation and encouraging tax compliance. Experts say the increased tax burden on non-filers is likely to discourage informal economic activity and push more citizens towards registering with the tax authority.

The draw attracted widespread participation, with bondholders from across the country eagerly awaiting the results, which offer not only a chance for substantial cash prizes but also a safe investment option.
