Terrorism and espionage are completely different things. The recent arrest of 10 RAW agents from different cities proves that jingoists in New Delhi cannot tolerate peace on the borders, and certainly not inside Pakistan. This is state-sponsored and militarily managed terrorism, executed through our own people for maximum impact.

The Modi regime still appears to be under the illusion that carrying out proxy attacks inside Pakistan is as easy as conducting false-flag operations in the territory under its own control. Nothing could be further from the truth. At the same time, it is incumbent upon Islamabad to introspect and identify its weaknesses that enabled locals to spy for and act on behalf of a hostile terror state, thereby turning against their own country.

This week’s arrests by Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department and the Sindh Special Investigation Unit are among the most direct proof of Indian sabotage on Pakistani soil in recent years. According to the information retrieved from the individuals arrested in Punjab, the main targets were mosques and railway stations in multiple cities, probably during the holy month of Muharram.

Over in Karachi, the four Sujawal-based Indian spies were caught feeding geotagged images and sensitive data across the border. The fact that they had crossed in and out of India at least 20 times to get logistical and tactical support only adds to the worries and highlights the extent of their planning and the level of external assistance involved. Fortunately, Pakistan has not lowered its guard.

The most prominent shared trait in both the incidents is the Indian footprint. History is rife with Indian spies like Kulbhushan Jadhav, Sarabjit Singh, Ravindra Kaushik, and Kashmir Singh, to name a few. Yet, it would be imprudent to ignore the growing clarity with which the Indian signature has recently been showing up. In the latest incidents, the recovered weapons, explosives, and audio recordings of the arrested spies and India’s serving military personnel are enough to reveal New Delhi’s never-ending attempts at weakening Pakistan.

Pakistan must approach all relevant international forums to expose India as a state that not only produces and sponsors terrorism but also exports it. The infiltrations and delivery of arms and explosives highlight the need for augmenting border security and intelligence measures. Also, instead of narrating its case like a victim, Pakistan needs to assert its stance as a state that has zero tolerance for terrorism

It is shameful that despite being caught red-handed time and again, India continues to engineer terror through its military intelligence wing with impunity. This week’s developments alone should be enough to give the world a reminder of who is destabilizing the region. New Delhi should no longer be allowed to escape accountability for sponsoring cross-border terrorism simply because it denies involvement. Here, it is time for Islamabad to put its foot down.

With all the evidence, names, and spies in hand, Pakistan must approach all relevant international forums to expose India as a state that not only produces and sponsors terrorism but also exports it. The infiltrations and delivery of arms and explosives highlight the need for augmenting border security and intelligence measures. Also, instead of narrating its case like a victim, Pakistan needs to assert its stance as a state that has zero tolerance for terrorism. The country has had its share of global sympathies. What it now needs is global action against real terrorists. Still, if India insists on exporting terror, then Pakistan must start exporting consequences. After all, it is a matter of national security.
