Karachi experienced its 10th earthquake within 24 hours on Monday night, sparking concern among residents and authorities, although no casualties or damage have been reported so far.
The latest tremor was felt at 11:16pm, with a magnitude of 2.4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the quake's epicenter was located southeast of Malir, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Despite the low intensity, the frequency of tremors in such a short period has raised concerns among seismologists and city officials. Emergency services have been put on alert, while citizens are urged to remain calm but vigilant.
Only a few hours ago, Karachi experienced another mild earthquake, marking the ninth tremor to hit the city within the past 24 hours, according to the Meteorological Department.
The last tremor, recorded at 8:49pm, had a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 30 kilometers east of DHA, at a depth of 13 kilometers.
Fortunately, no loss of life or property has been reported as a result of these seismic activities.

The Meteorological Department has issued a cautionary note, indicating that mild tremors may continue to be felt in Karachi over the next two days. Residents are advised to remain calm and follow standard safety procedures in the event of further seismic activity.
Earlier today, Karachi had experienced another wave of earthquakes. According to the National Seismological Center, the tremor this morning measured 3.2 on the Richter scale and had its epicentre near Quaidabad, with a shallow depth. The Meteorological Department confirmed that the earthquake was minor in nature, but enough to be felt across various parts of the city.
Tremors were reported from Quaidabad, Malir, Landhi, Sherpao Colony, Port Qasim, and adjacent areas. Eyewitnesses described people gathering in open spaces amid cries and confusion.
On Sunday night at 1:06am, the city was jolted by a 3.2 magnitude earthquake with its epicentre near Gadap Town. Tremors were felt in Khokhrapar, Malir, Landhi, Quaidabad, Future Mor, Gul Ahmed, and Hospital Chowrangi. No loss of life or property was reported in that incident.
