The Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab has rejected the allegations of rigging made by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf regarding the PP-52 Sialkot by-election, terming them baseless.
He stated that if Pervaiz Ashraf wishes to pursue the matter, he must lodge a formal complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), supported by concrete evidence.
The provincial election commissioner reiterated the commission’s commitment to promptly addressing all electoral complaints.
He added that anyone with substantial proof regarding any irregularity may contact the district monitoring officer directly.
Meanwhile, the district monitoring officer dismissed reports of polling stations being closed by the administration as “entirely false,” asserting that polling at all 185 stations in PP-52 Sialkot continued peacefully.
