The Prince and Princess of Wales appear to have rekindled a deeper bond following a difficult year marked by Princess Catherine’s cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
According to a report published by HELLO! Magazine, the royal couple, who celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary recently, were observed appearing "more relaxed and in love" during a public engagement — their first joint visit to the Isle of Mull since the Princess’s diagnosis was made public on March 22, 2024.
A source involved with the visit shared with the publication that the couple seemed noticeably at ease with one another, exchanging frequent gestures of affection and humour throughout the engagement. “They appeared more natural and comfortable with each other than ever,” the source noted.
“They were constantly touching one another, nudging each other to point things out and sharing lots of jokes,” the insider added. “Their newfound appreciation of life after everything that has happened seems to have made them even happier together.”
Observers interpreted the couple’s body language and overall demeanour as reflective of a renewed sense of unity following what has been a challenging period for the royal family.
The visit also came just days after the couple released a never-before-seen photograph of themselves to commemorate their anniversary, a gesture that was widely welcomed by royal followers. The post was accompanied by a heartfelt message: “Wonderful to be back on the Isle of Mull. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome ❤️ W & C.”
Princess Kate, 42, who had been largely out of the public eye earlier this year, had previously announced in a video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had undergone preventive chemotherapy. While no specifics of the type of cancer were revealed, the announcement prompted an outpouring of support from around the world.
The royal couple, who married in April 2011, share three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
