'Thunderbolts*' director Jake Schreier has revealed that the film's much-discussed post-credits scene was actually directed by the Russo Brothers on the set of the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday,' establishing a direct connection between the two Marvel projects.
The revelation comes as 'Thunderbolts*' continues its impressive box office performance, generating $162 million globally since its May 2 release, including $86.1 million from international markets.
"That was shot maybe four weeks ago, and I did not direct that. That's the Russos on the set of 'Avengers: Doomsday,'" Schreier explained in a recent interview. "I got to be there, which was very fun, to watch your buddies go on to this grander scale."

The viral post-credits sequence shows events 14 months after the main film's conclusion, featuring the Thunderbolts team responding to Sam Wilson's lawsuit over the Avengers trademark. This scene appears to be setting up storylines that will continue in the upcoming 'Avengers' installment.
"We always knew the end moment was going to be there from the very beginning and it was about building the right story that lived up to that. But the specifics of what that end credits scene came together quite late," the 43-year-old filmmaker added.
'Thunderbolts*' features an ensemble cast including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds.
