A prophecy made decades ago by Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga is drawing renewed attention as global tensions, economic upheavals, and deadly earthquakes bring her words to life.
The blind seer, whose track record includes apparent predictions of 9/11 and the COVID-19 pandemic, warned that 2025 would be a year of global reckoning.
One of her most ominous forecasts is a devastating war in Europe that would mark the "beginning of the downfall of humanity." While Baba Vanga never named the countries involved, the prediction has resurfaced amid rising global hostilities — including fears of conflict between major powers like India and Pakistan, and escalating tensions in Eastern Europe.
Vanga also envisioned a global economic crisis in 2025. That seems increasingly plausible in the wake of recent market tremors, including former US President Donald Trump’s reimposed tariffs — some as high as 145% — that have triggered fears of a worldwide financial downturn. Economists warn the global system could face serious strain, eerily echoing her prophecy.
Then came the earthquakes. A deadly 7.7 magnitude quake in Myanmar in March left over 1,700 dead. Another tremor in Tonga, measuring 7.1, sparked tsunami warnings. Vanga had predicted "shattering earthquakes" for 2025, lending a grim context to these tragedies.
Born in 1911 and blinded during a storm at age 12, Vanga claimed her visions began shortly after. Over her life, she made hundreds of predictions — some vague, others surprisingly accurate. These included the rise of China, Princess Diana’s death, and the global pandemic. Followers say her success rate hovered around 85%.
Her future timeline extends well beyond 2025:
- 2028: Humans begin exploring Venus for energy
- 2033: Melting ice caps cause catastrophic sea-level rise
- 2076: Global communism spreads
- 2130: Contact with extraterrestrials
- 3005: War with the Martian civilisation
- 5079: The end of the world
Skeptics point out the lack of primary sources and the oral nature of many predictions, but the alignment between her visions and current global crises has reignited debate.
