A significant development has emerged in the £190 million case as former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have filed petitions in the Islamabad High Court, requesting an early hearing of their appeals.
The petitions, submitted by lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, argue that the former premier is being subjected to political victimisation and that the delay in hearing the appeals is hindering the course of justice.
According to the plea, no progress was made during the last hearing, and the appeals require urgent attention to ensure timely justice. The petitioner maintained that the delay poses a risk of injustice and emphasized that a prompt hearing is essential.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) allotted a diary number to the appeals, raising the possibility that the case may be scheduled for hearing in the near future.
