A fourth case of polio has surfaced in a two-year-old child who became disabled due to poliovirus in the Gadap area of Karachi.
The Sindh Health Department confirmed that polio affected child is two years old.
“After three years, the first case of polio was reported in Sindh,” SAMAA TV reported.
Gadap is a rural area of port city. The last case in Sindh was reported in July 2020. Last month, poliovirus was found in all the environmental samples of Karachi. Sindh Health Department said that the number of children affected by polio in the country has increased to 4.
