Pakistan interim head coach Aaqib Javed regarded on Tuesday the forthcoming tri-nation series as a crucial opportunity in preparation for the much-anticipated Champions Trophy, slated to happen from February 19.
Speaking about the importance of the series on Tuesday, Javed asserted, “The tri-nation tournament will serve as a vital chance to fine-tune our preparations before the Champions Trophy.” He underscored that no team in the tournament would be weak, emphasising the high level of competition expected.
The series, scheduled to begin on February 8, will feature Pakistan as the host nation, alongside New Zealand and South Africa.
Addressing the calibre of the participating teams, Javed said, “All the top teams will compete in the Champions Trophy.”
The interim head coach acknowledged the steady progress within the national squad ahead of the prestigious tournament. “Significant improvement has been observed in the team before the Champions Trophy,” Javed stated.
