Jeep has reinstated the eight-speed automatic transmission for the 2025 Wrangler V-6 after listening to "community feedback."
Earlier this year, the automaker had announced the removal of the automatic gearbox, leaving the six-speed manual as the only option for the 3.6-liter V-6 engine.
The TorqueFlite automatic is now back as a $4,500 upgrade, while the standard manual transmission remains unchanged. The 3.6-liter V-6 delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, with pricing for the 2025 Wrangler starting at $33,990, including destination charges. Opting for one of six additional exterior colours raises the starting price to $34,585.
Jeep Brand CEO Bob Broderdorf acknowledged the decision, emphasising that the reintroduction came after "enthusiastic requests" from the Wrangler community.
The 2025 Wrangler features additional updates announced earlier this year, such as standard power locks and windows across all trims and the introduction of a military-inspired exterior colour.
While the updated engine-transmission pairing is now available for order, it is not yet reflected on Jeep's consumer website.
