Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has unveiled the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, offering interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 million to low-income families for housing purposes.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Housing Department and Bank of Khyber to implement the initiative. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur presided over the ceremony, attended by cabinet members Dr. Amjad Ali Khan and Muzammil Aslam, along with officials from the relevant departments and the Bank of Khyber.

The program aims to provide financial assistance for building new homes or renovating and expanding existing ones. The scheme, which comes with an allocation of Rs 4 billion, features a simple 7-year repayment plan. Beneficiaries will pay a maximum monthly installment of Rs 18,000, ensuring affordability.

To qualify, applicants must own land. The scheme will operate under a revolving fund system and remain active for the next seven years.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the government’s commitment to improving housing for low-income groups. "Providing quality housing facilities is one of our top priorities. The Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme reflects our dedication to uplift the living standards of the underprivileged," he said.

He stressed the importance of transparency, ensuring that only deserving individuals benefit from the program.

The Chief Minister also highlighted other welfare initiatives under the Ehsaas program, including Ehsaas Nawaz, Ehsaas Hunar, and Ehsaas Rozgar, which aim to empower citizens socially and economically.

This landmark scheme is expected to significantly improve housing conditions while contributing to the social and economic uplift of the province's low-income population.
