According to people with inside knowledge of the proceedings, Zee Studios may be the ones laying out the red carpet for this big-budget film. The movie appears committed to breaking through the opposition and reaching Indian audiences, even if it has encountered some backlash from some far-right Indian organizations like the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

With a star-studded cast that included Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malick, The Legend of Maula Jatt was an enormous smash in Pakistan and sent audiences into a state of excitement. Bol was the last Pakistani movie to appear on Indian screens in 2011. It has been a long. But as they say, patience pays off, and it appears that the wait is now over.

In its fourth week of release, the cult classic thriller had already risen to the top of the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film ever. The Legend of Maula Jatt is one of the biggest releases to come out of Pakistan, having been shown on more than 500 screens across 25 territories. The film's extraordinary reception has resulted in standing lines outside theaters and full house screenings all around the world. In response to customer demand, exhibitors are constantly planning more screenings.

Telling the story of Maula Jatt and Noori Natt's conflict, the film is a reworking of Yunus Malik's cult classic Maula Jutt from 1979. Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Nayyer Ejaz, Shafqat Cheema, Raheela Agha, Zia Khan, and Saima Baloch are among the cast members in Lashari's film The Legend of Maula Jatt.
