The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has initiated consultations to finalize the composition of the federal cabinet, signaling a significant step in the formation of the new government.

As per reports, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and other allies will also be included in the cabinet line-up.

Following the swearing-in of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which took place earlier on Monday, the allies will be formally invited to join the federal cabinet. This move underscores the PML-N's commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among political parties.

Some of the key appointments, as per sources, have already been disclosed, with Ishaq Dar slated to assume the role of finance minister and Attaullah Tarar appointed as the information minister. Additionally, prominent figures such as Khawaja Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, and Amir Maqam are set to join the federal cabinet.

Furthermore, individuals like Shaza Khawaja, Anusha Rehman, Awais Leghari, and Abdul Rahman Kanju are also expected to be part of the cabinet lineup, indicating a diverse and inclusive approach to governance.

It has been emphasized that the final approval on the composition of the federal cabinet will be sought from PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. His endorsement is expected to lend further credibility and cohesion to the cabinet selection process.

Earlier on Monday, PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif took the oath of office as the 24th prime minister of Pakistan in a high-profile ceremony held at the President House in Islamabad.

Shehbaz Sharif was administered the oath by President Arif Alvi. The ceremony was attended by PPP leaders Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, the governors of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, the chief ministers of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh, as well as all three services chiefs among others.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, after which the newly inducted prime minister was sworn in.
