Celebrity power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are reportedly expecting their first child, according to sources cited by The Week.

Reportedly, in her second trimester, Deepika's pregnancy speculations arose after she was seen concealing her midriff at the 77th BAFTA red carpet event. The actress donned a stunning shimmery saree and custom jewellery by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the occasion.

In a January interview with Vogue Singapore, Deepika was asked if she looked forward to becoming a mother, and she expressed her anticipation, stating, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”

She also reflected on her upbringing, emphasizing the importance of family values and the grounding influence of her upbringing, which she hopes to instill in her future children.

“When I meet the people I have grown up with — my aunts, uncles, family friends — they always mention how I haven’t changed one bit. That says a lot about our upbringing... In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.”

Deepika and Ranveer got married on November 14, 2018, with a grand wedding ceremony at Italy's Lake Como, following six years of courtship. Their relationship started on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela', following which they also starred together in 'Bajirao Mastani', and 'Padmaavat'.

Recently, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium.

Deepika was last seen in the aerial action thriller 'Fighter' opposite Hrithik Roshan and has sci-fi action thriller 'Kalki 2898 AD' alongside Prabhas ready for release, Ranveer is gearing up to reprise his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty's cop drama 'Singham Again'. Additionally, he is set to headline 'Don 3', directed by Farhan Akhtar, slated for release in 2025.
