SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Friday said people and armed forces of Pakistan are fully capable to defend homeland and repulse Indian attack, in case it ventures into doing so.

Talking to media, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presented a forceful and cogent stance in United Nations General Assembly; however, he should have also mentioned in his address Indian spies captured in Pakistan.

India is interfering into Pakistan’s internal affairs, Shah asserted adding the Prime Minister raised in the UN Kashmir dispute—the issue which he should have talked over with the political parties prior to his departure from Pakistan.

The PPP leader called upon the international community to intervene to stem India's sustained terrorism in the occupied Kashmir, adding, “We are facing terrorism for the sake of world peace.”

Replying to query regarding Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Pakistan, the NA Opposition leader said Muttahida is a patriotic party, adding, “The country’s solidarity and integrity is most crucial for all of us.”

“Muttahida founder is not in his sound state of mind. He is ailing,” he claimed responding to a query regarding the MQM founder.

The opposition leader also praised Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, saying the top army officer earned a good name for himself and does not need an extension.  –SAMAA
