KARACHI: Re-polling has ended at 43 polling stations of National Assembly constituency – NA-250 in Karachi, SAMAA reports on Sunday.
Strict security measures were taken at the polling stations, where rangers and army men were stationed.
All the polling stations were located in Clifton Cantonment Board and Saddar areas.
Due to irregularities, polling could not take place at these stations on May 11.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) had already announced boycotting the re-poll. -

LARKANA: Severe heat wave accompanied by load shedding has gripped several cities of interior Sindh and Punjab, SAMAA reports on Sunday.
The temperature has gone up to 47 degrees centigrade in Larkana and 42 in Sukkur.
Other areas of Sindh that suffer from heat include Rohri, Saleh Pat, Pano Aqil, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Tando Mohammad Khan, Matiari and other cities.
In Punjab, Bahawalpur and other plane areas suffer from heat the most.

KARACHI: MQM workers staged a sit-in in Karachi on Sunday against Imran Khan’s allegations regarding Altaf Hussain.
Dozens of MQM workers, who gathered at Ayesha Manzil for the protest, chanted slogans against PTI chief Imran Khan.
They said that the allegations leveled by Imran against Altaf Hussain were baseless and unwarranted.

ISLAMABAD: An upmarket constituency of violence-plagued city of Karachi voted again under tight security on Sunday, a day after gunmen killed a senior politician from a reformist party in the district and a week after general elections.
It was not immediately clear who killed Zara Shahid Hussain, a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party of former cricket hero Imran Khan, who accused the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) party, which has a stranglehold on the city.

HYDERABAD: Workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday took out rallies in Hyderabad against Imran Khan’s remarks in connection with the murder of PTI leader Zahra Hussain.
In a statement late Saturday night, Khan directly held Altaf Hussain and the British government responsible for the murder of Zahra Hussain.
According to reports, MQM workers staged rallies in Latifabad, Paka Qila, Station Road and Heerabad and condemned Imran Khan’s remarks.

HYDERABAD: Unknown persons resorted to aerial firing in Hyderabad early Sunday morning, causing fear and tension in the city.
According to reports, unknown gunmen attached the house of PTI leader Usman Kennedy and set his two vehicles on fire.
There were reports of heaving firing in Latifabad, Hyderabad Chowk, Paka Qila, Station Road and other areas.
All business centers, petrol pumps and CNG stations were closed immediately after the firing.
One hiace van was torched in Paka Qila.

KARACHI: At least three people were killed and as many injured in separate incidents of gun violence here on Sunday, police say.
According to the police, Arshad Hussain, 36, was shot dead near Meeran Naka in Lyari.
In another incident, gunmen shot and killed one person near Jona Masjid in Lyari.

KARACHI: Re-polling is under way at 43 polling stations of National Assembly constituency – NA-250 in Karachi, SAMAA reports.
Strict security measures have been taken at the polling stations, where rangers and army men have been stationed.
All the polling stations are located in Clifton Cantonment Board and Saddar areas. Over 86, 000 voters can exercise their right to vote at these stations.
In addition, voting is also under way in PS-112 and PS-113. A strong contest is being expected between PML-F's Zikriya Hussain and PTI’s Khurram Sher Zaman in PS-112. While in PS-113, ....
