LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced on Tuesday that his party would hold ‘Islamabad Zindabad’ conference at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on March 31.
Speaking to reporters here, Rehman said the JUI-F wants to engage people for positive and moderate politics. “We are playing a major role in the Parliament,” he said, adding that parliamentary resolutions should be implemented.
He was of the view Islam and its followers are under pressure from the international forces. Rehman said Pakistan was being pushed towards insecurity and hostility.
In response to a question, he said that “we should now settle with the jirga (assembly), formed to negotiate with Taliban in FATA.” – SAMAA
