ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has asked Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to provide names of those remaining parliamentarians who have dual nationalities, SAMAA reported on Saturday.
Registrar of the Supreme Court has mailed a letter to Rehman Malik seeking names of the parliamentarians having dual nationalities.
The letter states that details of dual nationality holder members shall be provided for equal treatment like other members under Article-25 and 5 of the Constitution.
The court has instructed in the letter to provide required details till September 27 for moving ahead proceedings, under provided details, of the court.
Earlier yesterday, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said while talking to the media that he has information about many more parliamentarians, who have dual nationalities but their details will be provided only if court will demand.
The Supreme Court has also mailed a letter to PML-Q MNA Shehnaz Sheikh through the National Assembly Secretary for clearing her position regarding dual nationality.
A newspaper exposed Shehnaz Sheikh’s dual nationality; the court has written a letter to the reporter of that news paper for rendering information in this regard.
The court letter has also quoted September 19 verdict over dual nationality case while demanding details. SAMAA
