ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has claimed that a PPP ‘jiyala’ will become the Chief Minister of Punjab after the next general elections.
He said that Jeay Bhutto slogan would be echoed at the Chief Minister House.
Earlier, President Zardari was greeted by PPP leaders after his arrival in Lahore from Islamabad.
The president met with Governor Latif Khosa at Governor House, where he was briefed about Lahore’s shoe factory fire and the latest situation in flood-hit areas of South Punjab.
President Zardari called for provision of immediate relief to the affected people.
He also met party’s members of Punjab Assembly and told them that public meetings would soon be held soon across the province.
In the meeting, he reiterated his strong resolve to create a separate South Punjab province in line with a Punjab Assembly’s resolution.
Later, President Zardari visited Mayo Hospital and inquired about the health of victims.
He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira.
He distributed achievement awards among 26 office bearers of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). SAMAA
