QUETTA: Dr. Ghulam Rasool, who was kidnapped from Quetta a couple of weeks ago, reached home safely on Friday after getting freedom from the abductors.
Earlier on August 1, Dr. Ghulam Rasool had been kidnapped on gun point by some unknown armed kidnappers while returning home after finishing duty at Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta.
The doctors were sternly protesting on call of Pakistan Medical Association during last 17 days for recovery of kidnapped Dr. Ghulam Rasool. They also stopped performing duties in private and public hospitals as a protest for recovery of fellow doctor.
Owing to doctors’ long unending strike, the patients were suffering badly during this period and it was feared that the situation will deteriorate further for patients as doctors suspended emergency services as well on Friday.
According to sources, abducted Dr. Ghulam Rasool was freed on Saryab Road of Quetta on Friday evening but it is not known yet that on which conditions the abductors set him free.
Lal Gul, younger brother of Dr. Ghulam Rasool, confirmed his recovery while the doctors ended their strike after hearing about his release. SAMAA
