KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah condemned the blast that occurred near Safari Park area of the city after Friday prayers.

The MQM chief said in his statement that with such terror activities, the terrorists want to destroy the country.

Hussain also demanded security of countrymen.

Earlier, the blast was occurred near University of Karachi when a religious rally was passing by. At least one person was killed while 13 were injured in the blast.

Sources said a hand grenade was hurled on a bus in which participants of Al-Quds rally were travelling. There were also reports of firing following the blast.

Police and rescue teams reached at the scene. The injured people are taken to different hospitals for treatment. SAMAA
