KARACHI: Police today claimed to have apprehended five persons allegedly involved in serious crimes, including murder of security personnel and money extortion.
According to the police, one suspect was caught red-handed while extorting Rs5 million.
"We conducted raids in different areas of the city and nabbed Muhammad Yousuf alias Lahoti, Shahid, Tahir Mahmood, Shehzad Khaskheli and Abdul Rehman Baloch," SSP Khurram Waris told at a press conference.
He said the suspects are involved in countless robberies and over 25, 000 others crimes in the old city area.
Four kalashnikovs, two TT pistols, one 9MM pistol, hand grenade and dozens of bullets were recovered from the suspects’ possession, Waris added.
He said one of the suspects, Khaskheli, is involved in the murder of Rangers personnel Madad Ali. SAMAA
