Pak. hockey team receives invitation for Champions Trophy in Australia

LONDON: Pakistan hockey team has received an official invitation for participation in upcoming Champions Trophy tournament in Australia; the International Hockey Federation (IHF) has also informed the top management of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), SAMAA reported on Friday.

Pakistan hockey team coach Akhtar Rasool informed while talking to SAMAA from London that Pakistani team’s success against South Korean team for securing seventh position in Olympics-2012 has paved way for participation in the Champions Trophy.

Champions Trophy tournament will be played in Australian city Melbourne and it will open on December 1 and would continue till December 9.

Apart from Pakistan team, title holder Australia, Belgium, England, India, Germany, Netherlands and New Zealand teams will take part in the tournament. SAMAA
