ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) a certificate as proof that he has abandoned British citizenship.
Malik submits in his rejoinder that he had relinquished the British citizenship in 2008 before he was elected as senator.
Several other concerning documents were attached with his rejoinder.
It should be mentioned here that Malik’s renunciation certificate from UK Border Agency (UKBA) is dated May 29, 2012. The lawyers endorsed only the submission of application back in 2008.
The federal minister prayed to the court to discharge the plea filed against him. SAMAA
