Govt prepares review petition against Contempt Bill annulment

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The federal government is likely to file a review petition on Wednesday against the Supreme Court’s decision which annuled the Contempt of Court Act 2012.

Abdul Shakoor Paracha, counsel of the federation, has prepared a petition and forwarded it to the Attorney General Office.

Owing to other works and engagements, the Attorney General could not review the petition prepared by Paracha.

According to sources, federation's review petition over annulment of the Contempt of Court Bill-2012 is expected to be filed in the Supreme Court tomorrow. SAMAA
