LAHORE: Not only Karachi but Lahore city, too, is in the grip of outlaws and incidents of broad daylight dacoities have become order of the day in the metropolis.
Such an incident took the life of a private company manager on Monday.
Police said employees of a private company were transferring some Rs4 million cash of the firm in Shahm Nagar at Bilal Park area when three armed men in a car intersepted them and attempted to snatch the cash on gun point.
Officials said the robbers opened fire when the company manager, Samdani Butt, resisted their attempt. He was killed on the spot whereas the company cashier, Musharraf, and a security guard, Zaman Shah were injured.
Guard Zaman’s retaliation fire killed one of the robbers.
DIG Operation, Rai Muhammad Tahir said investigations were being carried out and that the dacoit could not be identified, adding that the dead bodies were shifted to civil hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Later, talking to SAMAA, the company owner, Shakeel Butt, expressed his grave concern over the security situation, saying that the company had experienced more than 20 robbery incidents over the past three months. -- SAMAA
