Supreme Court seeks record of Abidi’s press conference

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday asked for the record of Faisal Raza Abidi’s press conference in which he called for the resignation of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

A petition was filed in the apex court, seeking contempt of court proceedings against Senator Abidi.

The petition also made PEMRA Chairman and a private TV anchor as respondents.

Petitioner Tariq Asad pleaded the court that strict action be taken against the parties involved under the Contempt of Court Law. He said that criticism on the chief justice could not be termed as justified.

The petition said the private TV channel has failed to take precautionary measures in this regard.

Meanwhile, the ruling PPP also issued a show-cause notice to Abidi over his Sunday's press conference. SAMAA

Basically, Abidi has crossed the limits of patience because of the biased nature of CJ Iftikhar Chaudhary. If you look into the facts then you'll realize that Mr. Abidi is right & CJ is wrong. In fact, CJ should get punished for his biased behavior. This is democracy not anarchy..
