Malik sees Bangladesh-like situation in Balochistan

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that terror camps are operating from border areas of Balochistan and Kandhar.

In a statement in the Upper House today (Friday), Malik said 14 militant groups, which are operational in Balochistan, are being paid to sabotage peace in the province.

He said there is Bangladesh-like situation in Balochistan at this time. No Pashtun has yet joined any army or organization there, he said.

Malik further said 50 percent Baloch, 40 percent Pashtuns and 10 percent other ethnic groups have been affected by the situation.

The interior minister asserted India is sponsoring the terror camps, which are operating from Balochistan border areas. SAMAA
