23 hurt in Lahore fruit market bomb blasts

LAHORE: At least 23 persons have been reported hurt in two bomb blasts at fruit market in Lahore, SAMAA reported on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, one after the other two bombs blasted at fruit market in Lahore during late hours this night, leaving over two dozen persons injured.

The rescue teams rushed to the blasts’ sites and started to move the injured to hospitals; 20 injured have been moved to Lahore’s Mayo Hospital.

According to hospital sources, many deaths are also feared as at least five injured persons are in serious condition and they are kept in intensive care unit.

Lahore administration has declared emergency in all public hospitals of city while the Mayo Hospital administration has also summoned many senior surgeons on duty immediately.

The police have cordoned off the blasts’ sites at fruit market while checking at all exits and entrances of the city has been also beefed up. SAMAA
