New Contempt Law: SC’s short order likely today

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) is expected to deliver today short order in a case about the new contempt of court law 2012, SAMAA reports Monday.

A five-strong larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry will resume the hearing of numerous identical petitions filed against new Contempt of Court Law 2012.

It should be mentioned here that the counsels of 21 petitioners had completed their arguments in previous hearing. The Attorney General of Pakistan Irfan Qadir and counsels of other petitioners will complete their arguments today.

After the completion of proceedings, the court is expected to deliver a short order today. SAMAA
