ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Pervez Elahi said on Sunday that the federal government with its Ramadan Package worth Rs 2.5 billion is providing basic necessities of life to people at subsidized rates.
As part of the package, Utility Stores are providing quality products to masses in sufficient quantities, he said while addressing a news conference.
He said agreement has been reached with the flour mills over the price of flour. The mills providing sub-standard flour will now be blacklisted, he warned.
Deputy Prime Minister said Utility Stores Corporation has about 5600 outlets across the country and its mobile service is also working in far flung and inaccessible areas.
On the occasion he alleged that Punjab Government was trying to forcibly close the cheap bazaars set up by federal government.
He urged the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to compare the quality of products at both bazaars. – SAMAA/AGENCIES
