RAWALPINDI: A man suspected of killing former Attorney General Sardar Khan fled to Dubai from a Rawalpindi hospital early Sunday morning.
Three policemen assigned to protect the accused – Roohallah were later arrested over negligence.
According to reports, the accused escaped from the custody after policemen opened up his handcuff for Fajr prayers.
People present outside the hospital immediately drove him to the airport where he boarded a plane to Dubai.
The plane had already taken off before the Rawalpindi police reached the airport.
Roohullah is accused of shooting former AG Sardar Khan to death on Aug 3, 2010. He fled to Dubai after carrying out the murder and was later brought back through Interpol.
According to sources, the accused also obtained a passport on June 20 during his detention. The whole episode has put a question mark on the police performance. SAMAA
