Balochistan unrest: SC seeks report by July 31

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted time to Advocate General Balochistan to submit till July 31, a joint statement of all concerned authorities regarding full implementation of its orders on Balochistan situation.

A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain resumed hearing of a suo motu case on Balochistan’s law and order situation.

The bench ordered federal defence ministry, interior ministry and Balochistan’s provincial government to submit by July 31 a report on steps taken to curb lawlessness and target killing in the strife-ridden province. -- SAMAA
