ISLAMABAD: Leaders of two ruling allies and rivals in Karachi – Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party – met in federal capital here Wednesday and agreed upon an ‘indiscriminate’ action against ‘mafias’ in Karachi, SAMAA reports.
The MQM delegation, led by party’s deputy convenor Farooq Sattar, held meeting with ANP’s Haji Adeel at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
The MQM delegation comprised Babar Ghauri, Dr. Wasay Jalil, Saif Yar Khan and Tahir Malik, while Senator Haji Adeel was accompanied by Senator Shahi Syed, Afrasiyab Khatak and Senator Zahid Khan.
Speaking to newsmen following the parley, the two sides cited ‘nonexistence’ of government’s writ as reason behind unrest in Karachi, and called for an indiscriminate operation against mafias in the metropolis.
Sources said the ANP leaders have accepted MQM’s invitation to visit Nine Zero.
