PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sent Afghan love married couple into police protection while cancelling police FIR, registered under Foreign Act, against Marium and Hawad.
Marium and Hawad married with love and came to Pakistan after fleeing from Afghanistan. Both were taken into custody from Abbotabad on Sunday and on Monday the police presented by them before the Peshawar High Court.
The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Dost Muhammad Khan conducted hearing of the suo moto case about the Afghan couple.
The Afghan couple pleaded before the court that they are under life threat after marrying with choice so security should be rendered to them.
The case registered against the Afghan couple, under Foreign Act, was annulled by the Peshawar High Court’s Chief Justice.
During hearing, Afghan couple’s rivals also appeared before the court and claimed that girl, Marium, is already married and a mother of two children. They also presented some documents before the court.
The court declared one opponent’s, who claimed to be brother-in-law of girl, identification papers fake and ordered the police to file a case against him under Foreign Act.
The court handed over the couple into police protection and adjourned hearing of the case till July 31. SAMAA
