KARACHI: A Rangers official was injured and few vehicles were damaged in a remote-controlled blast outside Chinese consulate in Karachi’s high security zone, SAMAA reports on Monday.
Bomb Disposal Squad said time device was used to detonate the bomb rigged to a motorbike parked near the Chinese consulate in Karachi’s Clifton area.
According to SP Clifton, a Rangers man was injured in the blast while three vehicles were damaged.
Cordoning off the area, police impounded the damaged bike and collected evidences from the site. Rescue teams shifted the injured security man to hospital.
Officials said ball bearings were not used in the explosion, unlike other recent blasts in the city.
Police was unclear about the blast target as Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management is also closer to the explosion site.
IG Sindh has announced Rs1 million reward for anyone providing information regarding the terrorists involved in Monday's blast. -- SAMAA
