KARACHI: Violence continued to plague Karachi on Sunday as two activists of PPP and PTI were killed in drive-by attacks in the city, SAMAA reports.
The firing incidents, which also left three people injured, sowed panic and tension in New Karachi, Orangi Town, Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and other violence-hit areas.
Police said Pakistan Peoples Party worker Amir Gabol, 30, was shot dead by unknown assailants in New Karachi’s Sector 5-D area.
Bullet-riddled dead body of a 25-year-old man, Dilawar, was found in Zamzama Street at Defence area.
Officials said the victim was Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf worker, and was kidnapped near his residence in Gizri on Saturday before his murder.
In a separate incident, three people were gunned down in a firing incident at Malir’s Jafar Tayar society.
Meanwhile, three people were wounded in armed clash between two groups in Koragi area.
Tension prevailed in Orangi Town, Bukhari Colony, Qasba Colony, Manghopir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Safoora Chowk and other areas following the firing incidents. – SAMAA
