Punjab cities receive moderate rain; heavy showers likely

ISLAMABAD: Strong monsoon currents have started penetrating in upper parts of the country, with various cities in Punjab received moderate downpour on Saturday, SAMAA reports.

The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) forecast heavy falls and flash/urban flooding at isolated places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions.

Widespread rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls are likely over upper and central parts of Punjab including Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Faisalabad divisions within 24 to 48 hours.

It say scattered rain/thundershower is also likely over Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu and D.I. Khan divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. – SAMAA/AGENCIES
