QUETTA: At least six people were killed and seven others injured in a powerful explosion in Kuchlak area of the city, SAMAA quotes police sources Friday.
According to police sources, the blast occurred early this morning in Kuchlak Bazaar—the venue of a public gathering of Awami National Party (ANP)—injuring several people.
The blast took place just outside the venue of the ANP’s public rally. The preliminary report said the bomb was rigged to a motorcycle parked nearby. Numerous vehicles were destroyed in the explosion.
The four injured and as many bodies have been shifted to nearby Civil Hospital, where emergency has been put in place.
The blast was followed by intense gunfire triggering panic among the people who burst into stampede in a market which is usually crowded at this time of the day.
The injured include an ANP leader Malik Qasim as well. The ANP sources said they demanded security for today’s program, adding today’s devastations could have been averted in presence of appropriate security arrangements. SAMAA
