LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Haji Habibur Rahman Thursday said at least nine police’s jail wardens were killed and ten others injured in the Rasool Park terrorist attack early this morning.
Talking to media here, he said the attack is an incident of brazen terrorism, adding the deceased belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s police.
The assailants, Punjab IG Haji Habib noted, were ten in numbers, who used three motorbikes and a vehicle with only one saboteur who stood guard outside the residence.
The terrorists, Punjab police chief asserted, were divided in three parties, who employed Kalashnikovs and hand grenades, adding the attack resembles the incidents of Gujrat, Babu Sabu and Ichhra.
The institutions are themselves responsible for their security, he added. SAMAA
