ANP says no to Dual Nationality, yes to Contempt of Court Bill

Staff Report

LAHORE: The Awami National Party (ANP), one of the coalition partners of the PPP, has decided to oppose the Dual Nationality Bill.

The decision has been taken at the meeting of ANP’s Parliamentary Party led by Senator Haji Adeel today (Monday).

The meeting has decided to oppose the Dual Nationality Bill and support the Contempt of Court Bill 2012.

The ANP will also oppose a government’s plan to increase the pension of judges’ widows.

The PML-N, which is the main opposition party in the Parliament, has announced it will stage a strong protest in the National Assembly against the tabling of the Contempt of Court Bill and will abstain from voting. SAMAA
