KARACHI: The political as well as sectarian violence continued to plague Karachi on Saturday, claiming six more lives, SAMAA reports.
Police said three young brothers, associated with a politico-religious group, were also among those killed in today’s drive-by assaults, while three others were gunned down in different localities.
Saad, Talha and Hamza, aged between 17 and 22, were shot dead by unknown bike riders at a motor-mechanic shop in Sector 7-A of the Surjani Town.
“The three brothers died on the spot while another person who sustained bullet injuries was shifted to hospital,” a police officer told SAMAA.
The attackers managed to flee from the scene as severe tension gripped the area, with shops and business activities closed.
Police says the victims belong to a politico-religious group.
Other firing incidents took place in Korangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Liaqatabad areas, leaving three men dead. -- SAMAA
