KARACHI: The first consignment of NATO containers have been sent to Afghanistan from the metropolis’ Port Qasim amidst stringent security arrangements, SAMAA reports Thursday.
It should be mentioned here that Pakistan reinstated the Ground Lines of Communication (GLOCs) into Afghanistan after the US tendered apology over the November 26 attack by the US forces on Salala check post located Mohmand Agency.
Over hundred containers are being dispatched to Afghanistan for the NATO forces in the first phase.
According to sources, at least six containers have thus far been sent off from Port Qasim. However, the port’s authority and Karachi Goods Carrier Association Chairman Khalid Khan did not confirm the departure of NATO forces’ containers to Afghanistan. SAMAA
