LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that Young Doctors Association has ended its strike across the province after ‘successful talks with the government’, SAMAA reports.
However, the YDA leaders denied ending the 17-day long strike, saying that the boycott of government hospitals would go on unless the provincial health authorities meet their demands.
Provincial Law Minister, Rana Sana Ullah told reporters that almost demands of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) had been met by the Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif during the dialogues held today.
“Senior doctors played their role and facilitated the negotiations,” Rana said, adding that the arrested doctors were being released and all cases would be withdrawn.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Punjab chaired a meeting of Punjab health department and reviewed the demands made by the medical staff. -- SAMAA
