PESHAWAR: Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Shakirullah Jan Tuesday said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is geared up to hold local and general elections after July.

Addressing a workshop in Peshawar University here, the acting CEC said the work relating the computerized electoral rolls will be completed this very month.

Justice Jan said it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to hold free and fair elections and thwart riggings; but, provincial government and district administration are bound to maintain law and order situation. SAMAA
