LAHORE: In the wake of doctors’ strike and protest across Punjab, the provincial government has decided to appoint 1000 doctors in various hospitals, SAMAA reports.
Sources said the hiring would be made through walk-in interviews.
The provincial administration is resolute to take action against the protesting doctors and their leadership. “30 doctors of Young Doctors Association (YDA) have been enlisted who would be sacked ‘at all coast’ even if they seek unconditional pardon and end their 13-day long strike,” they said.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of Punjab Health Ministry said, as many as 454 women medical officers had already been appointed in various hospitals.
The spokesperson said the women medical officers have been selected through Public Service Commission and the posting plan of these female medical officers has been uploaded at the website of Health Department. -- SAMAA
